Look at every big account on Twitter, most of their tweets contain an image/video.

A visual catches the eyes faster than any great copy.

Furthermore, the image creates a gap between your tweet and the next tweet.

That pulls the (reader/viewer)'s attention towards your tweet.

I remember seeing a tweet from a guy who analyzed the Twitter algorithm source. In short, he said: "Links have score of -1 and Visuals have 2" - something along those lines. Visuals work so much better than external links.

I am not saying to follow the algorithm and change when it changes. That is BS.

Just add an image to the tweet, it brightens up the story.

PS. I have also seen tweets perform well if they have great cover on the links.
