ChatGPT is so popular specially because of Word-Of-Mouth marketing. My brother, he is 12 yrs old, asked me about ChatGPT: "Do you know about ChatGPT?", for which I jokingly replied NO.

If he knows about it, then OpenAI did a great job. Me and my friends sometimes talk about ChatGPT in my class. That is also some ingenious marketing strategy by OpenAI.

You can also create something like that. This is how you can create something so popular as ChatGPT:

1. Make something so great, your friends will talk about it to their friends. Seth Godin calls this remarkable.
2. Do an unusual move, build a groundbreaking new product - this thing was new in the world, at least for 90%. If you asked it to give a recipe, it will give it as if you asked your mother. Simple things like those, which make the product more human, were new in the market.
3. Collabarate with influencers in the niche-space, for ChatGPT it was AI/ML wizards on X, they were a reason for the buzz around it.

The third step happens a lot, the first one is the most important.
